Leeds United finalise January deal ‘very quickly’ with player moving in ‘next few hours’

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke.

Jack Harrison struggled badly in Leeds United’s 3–1 FA Cup win over Derby County on Sunday, a performance that could yet prove to be his final outing in a Leeds shirt.

Daniel Farke chose to reintegrate Harrison last summer following his two-year loan spell at Everton, despite significant sections of the fanbase pushing for his exit.

Opportunities have since been scarce. The winger has failed to feature meaningfully in the Premier League since November and has spent much of the past few months watching from the bench.

Leeds are ready to move on from the winger, and it emerged on Tuesday that the Whites are in advanced talks to loan out the winger to Italian club Fiorentina in the ongoing transfer window.

Leeds wasted little time agreeing on a deal with Fiorentina for Jack Harrison

that Fiorentina have an option to buy the 29-year-old winger for a fee of around £9m at the end of the loan spell.

Local Florence daily La Nazione has provided more background on the details of the deal that would see Harrison join La Viola on loan this month.

It has been claimed that the two clubs finalised a deal for Harrison’s departure from Elland Road quickly, and there was very little disagreement between Leeds and Fiorentina.

The winger will arrive in Italy in the ‘next few hours’ to complete the formalities of the loan move, including undergoing a medical.

Fabio Paratici, who will soon become the Fiorentina sporting director, has played a big role in Harrison leaving Leeds for the Italian club this month.

He will only take up his position at Fiorentina at the end of the transfer window. However, it has been claimed that his signature is all over the club’s move for the Leeds star.

Harrison has been dreadful this season

harrison’s performance against Derby was alarming, and more or less convinced everyone that he cannot have a future at Leeds moving forward.

However, his numbers at Everton were dreadful for two seasons, and for a winger, his attacking numbers are more than just ridiculous.

Farke kept him around in the summer as he wanted to have one more attacking option in his squad, but in the last few months, he lost faith in him.

The 29-year-old has been struggling for game time this season. However, it is hard to argue that he deserved any more minutes in a Leeds shirt this season.

Leeds hope that he does enough at Fiorentina for the club to trigger the clause and buy him for a deal worth around £9m in the summer.
